Alan Shooter FCA FCCA was qualified at the age of 21 as a Chartered Accountant in 1968. He is married with five children in various professions and also has eleven grandchildren. He is a member of the faculties of Taxation, Information Technology, Audit & Finance & Management of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England & Wales. He is also a fellow member of the Chartered Association of Certified Accountants.

Shooter Greene & Co sets legal precedent at Customs & Excise VAT Appeals
Tribunal

Alan Shooter FCA FCCA set a major legal precedent against Customs & Excise. The case was reported in Accountancy Age.

The tribunal ruled based on the evidence submitted by Alan Shooter that a business suffering from cash flow problems due to recession and late payment by customers had reasonable excuse for late payment for VAT, extending the principal ruling set out in the "Steptoe" case set in 1989, this saved recession hit businesses thousands of pounds.
